Armor is a leviathan-class suit, which is a powered mechanized exoskeleton (or "mech") in excess of 2.5 meters in height and massing multiple metric tons. It serves both to carry heavy loads and weapons well in excess of those possible to a standard human (or "squishy") and is also much more resistant to damage. All Templars go into battle operating one of these massive suits.

Infantry Armor[ | ]

Equip armor basicplate

Infantry Armor is the baseline armor to which other armors are compared. It has reasonable defensive statistics but zero evasion.

Heavy Armor[ | ]

Equip armor heavy

Heavy Armor has higher than usual armor bonus with average deflection. The armor bonus is inversely related to the MP penalty. In fact, when there is no MP penalty it is rather similar to Infantry Armor.

Gear Armor Def. Other Prerequisite
Heavy Leviathan 3 44 76% -1 MP Heavy Infantry 1

Command Armor[ | ]

Equip armor captain

Command Armor is designed for toe-to-toe slugfests with melee enemies. As a result, this armor tends to have higher armor bonus and deflection than the norm. Some evade, resistance, and counter-attack bonuses can also be found on some.

Assault Armor[ | ]

Equip armor assault

The design of the Assault Armor focusses more on mobility and evasion than soaking hits. Assult Armors coming from the Berserker tree have slightly lower than average deflection and slightly higher armor bonus, while those from the Paladin tree are more deflection oriented.

Light Armor[ | ]

Equip armor scout

Light Armor is only used by Scouts (who have no other option). It is noted for having high evasion and very low armor and deflection. The best of them have armor ratings on par with starting Infantry Armor. It follows that a survivable Scout is one that keeps out of attack range of the enemy.

Gear Armor Def. Evade Other Prerequisite
Leviathan Scout 2 22 60% -

Hydra Armor[ | ]

Equip armor heavy

Hydra armor is of course intended for the Hydra specialist. It is heavy armor with relatively high deflection and exceptional protection against environmental hazards such as fire or radiation, and also provides protection against Heat. Its armor rating is average.

Gear Armor Def. Other Prerequisite
Heat-Shielded Leviathan 2 30 80% +16 Fire Resist, +8 Radiation Resist
Shadowflame Armor 3 34 80% +10 Max Heat, +24 Fire Resist, +12 Radiation Resist Precision Fire 1

Flame Tank Armor[ | ]

Equip armor heavy

Flame Tank Armor is similar to standard Infantry Armor in its armor and deflection, but also offers a small amount on evade, fire damage and fire resist bonuses. Wearing such an armor allows the Engineer to use Hand-Flamers while disallowing the Heat Sink talent.

Gear Armor Def. Evade Other Prerequisite
Flame Tank Armor 2 34 68% 2 +8 Fire Dmg, +10 Fire Resist Pyro 1
Flamework Panzen 6 36 72% 2 +14 Fire Dmg, +20 Fire Resist Pyro 2

Neptune Armor[ | ]

Equip armor heavy

Neptune armor can be worn only by the Neptune specialist. It typically has high armor and high deflection, but no environmental resistance to speak of.
